Given the environmental challenge that lies ahead of us all, and our impact on global emissions, Allen Energy Consultants Ltd (AEC) was formed. We provide independent energy consulting and assessing services as a means of actively improving sustainability and compliance of our built environment. Throughout the Midlands and East Anglia we are providing solutions for the private and public construction sector and property markets.
With a passion to drive sustainability in everything we do, we focus on reducing the emissions generated from UK properties, providing an efficient, reliable and professional service to both domestic and non-domestic sectors.
We utilise an intelligent approach to the assessment of the properties geographic and contextual situation, providing assessment and consulting services that meet compliance, technical feasibility and economic viability to industry and private individuals. We enable customers to meet project requirements, and to ensure future proofing of the building.
Building on knowledge and capability, our organisation is constantly adapting to meet the needs of the environment in which we operate. Our aim is to provide you with a professional service that is efficient, responsive, technically excellent and offering value for money.
The Situation
The UK builds circa two hundred thousand new properties a year. This is within an existing housing stock of over 25million homes, many with Energy Performances around D, E & F on their Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
The Challenge
The UK Clean Growth Strategy published by the governments Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) highlighted the need for;
- As many buildings as possible band C by 2035
- Private rented commercial buildings to band B by 2030
- Aim to get businesses 20% more energy-efficient by 2030
- 500,000 Deep Retrofits per year needed to meet Net Zero CO2 by 2050

Founder
Passionate about the environment, Chris formed Allen Energy Consultants in 2020, looking to drive change in how we see the generation, use and conservation of energy in the built environment. In doing so, he has left an established career in the automotive industry, having spent the previous decade driving the need for electric vehicles and, before that, sustainable technologies for industry.
Having a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc), an MBA from Cranfield University and holding Domestic and Non-domestic accreditations in property energy assessment as well as qualifications in energy consulting, Chris has focussed on continuous personal development to always provide solutions from a holistic view and point of knowledge.
With a dedication for building cost effective sustainable solutions, and a strong and growing professional network in the Property Energy Industry, Chris relishes the opportunity of driving change in our understanding of how we are all a part of the emissions generated, and how we can all have a personal and social impact.
